Creative mandate for the home:

This family of five purchased this craftsman home after living the city life for as long as they could remember. With a great room the size of most NYC apartments, they weren't quite sure where to start. With a love for contemporary and organic design, differing materials were mixed with clean lines and natural textures.

To maximize the wall space on the TV wall, we designed and had this custom media center built with our millworker. The front is crafted of hickory, while the frame and floating shelves are walnut. Using two types of woods created interest with the intention of this piece being it's own statement/art piece in the room.

The 20 foot ceilings needed large scale art, so this abstract piece was commissioned to incorporate the colors of the space and provide an abstract backdrop for the room. Additionally, an extra large orb chandelier grounds the room while remaining cohesive with the scale.

A custom window bench was designed to provide additional seating for guests and a relaxing place for the family to lounge.

In front of the fireplace we created a kid inspired area, with poufs and a chaise for them to have their own zone while the parents entertained.
